Election in Five state of India

The most important phase for the Congress is going to be decided for their standing in 2014 election across India.  The election in upcoming five state will be the outcome where Congress stands with all the allegation and corruption happened during their regime of last 3 years.

Election Commission of India is gearing for the biggest election fight in the country at Uttar Pradesh.  Though there are other states like Punjab, Goa, Manipur and Uttarkand which will also have election this year.  However, Uttar Pradesh will be major look for the election outcome, as this will majorly decided which party has more power for the next 2014 election.

Elections will be held to the Goa, Manipur, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand assemblies between Jan 28 and March 3, 2012, and votes will be counted March 4, it was announced on Saturday.

All parties BSP, SP, JD(U), BJP and Congress have begun their campaign for the election, with blame game on each other.  The major part of the blame game is played by Congress on the Mayawati, BSP run Government for major corruption enroute.  With many schemes released by the Central Government and funding, which has not reached the rural public and eaten up the corrupt politician.

Mayawati has started an act of cleaning her cabinet with about 10 ministers being removed from the cabinet in 1 week.  This was a major setback for the Government as it has mentioned that the clean up for the reviving the party image for the upcoming election.

Let see the calendar for the election dates:

  • Uttar Pradesh: Feb 4, 8, 11, 15, 19, 23 and 28. for 403 seats.

  • Goa will go to polls March 3 for 40 seats

  • Manipur polls on January 28 for 60 seats.

  • Punjab (117 seats) and Uttarakhand (70 seats) polls on January 30
